A Snapchat streak, also known as a Snapstreak, occurs when you and another Snapchat user exchange snaps for at least three days in a row within 24 hours. You’ll notice that a fire emoji will appear next to the name of this user and a number that indicates how many days you’ve snapped each other.

When this feature was introduced, users immediately took to it and now compete for the longest Snapchat streak.

How to Start a Snapchat Streak

Snapstreak’s most specific feature is this. Just send a snap to everyone you think might be interested and wait for a response within 24 hours. Some people are willing to send daily snaps to you, but you need to find them. These are the people you’re most likely to run into regularly.

Snapchat Streak Rules

It’s simple to start a Snapchat streak, but it can be challenging to keep it going because not every interaction counts. So if you want to keep your Snapchat streak alive, here is a list of interactions that won’t count:

• CHAT: Your Snapchat streak will not be impacted by the text messages you exchange with your friends. Remember that even if you engage with them this way, you should also snap them.
• GROUP CHAT: To keep your streak alive, you could snap many of your friends. Snapchat, on the other hand, forbids it.
• STORIES: In the same way that chatting does not count toward your streak, reports should only be sent to one person.
• MEMORIES: Memories can be shared again if you want to relive a particular moment. This does not affect your Snapchat streak, however.
• SPECTACLES: Snapchat streaks don’t include Spectacles-shared snaps.

Snapchat Streak Emojis

When you begin a Snapchat streak with another user, you’ll notice a fire emoji next to their username shortly after you start yours with that person. Emojis are linked to Snapstreak in a variety of ways. These are the emojis that may appear next to the username of the person with whom you are on a snapping streak:

• FIRE Emoji: If you’re using this emoji with someone, it means you’re having a good time on Snapchat.
• HOURGLASS Emoji: If you see this emoji, you should be cautious because your streak is about to end.
• 100 Emoji: Your Snapchat partner and you have been sending each other snaps for at least 100 consecutive days.
• MOUNTAIN Emoji: Extremely long streaks are denoted by this extremely uncommon emoji.

What is the Longest Snapchat Streak?

To keep track of how many days you’ve been sending snaps, Snapchat displays a number next to your name and an emoji. It’s easy to see how a simple feature like this could become competitive.

This is a difficult task because there are so many daily active users and so many snaps sent daily. However, as soon as the app has an official scoreboard, all users can see each other’s progress.

This feature was introduced on April 6, 2015, and as of May 2022, the longest Snapchat streak belongs to Amy Brogan and Adao Barai Dafe, who have been recording their streaks since they began.
