Here is the wood before they started working on it:
After saving up all of the wooden slats, they had to take out the nail heads one by one…
They were left with almost 9,000 nails that they removed out of every single wooden pallet.
After, all the boards were ready to be taken to be machined down.
They sliced the boards down to half an inch thick.
And trimmed them down to five inches wide:
Here are the final boards stacked and ready to be transformed:
Here is the room that had been patiently awaiting its transformation:
They started layering the first boards of the subfloor.
It started to look pretty good even early on…
Eventually, the entire room started to take shape (with the obvious help of a little someone!)
Ta, daaaa. And this isn’t even the finished product!
This is the floor after the first layer of gloss:
And then moved on to the kitchen…
And added the finish to the kitchen.
The final product is actually stunning. Who knew you could make something so pretty with old wood?
