Work is set to begin next year for the perfect place to view the Northern Lights. The absolute first of its kind, this 86-room floating hotel will be called The Krystal, and is scheduled to be open to visitors by the end of 2016. The snowflake-shaped property will be based in the fjords near Tromso, the largest city in northern Norway.
The Krystal Hotel will have a glass roof so guests can enjoy the Northern Lights.
The hotel is designed to have hallways with futuristic blue shapes, a fireplace with transparent bricks, a conference rooms with Jetson-style seating, as well as a spa, and wellness center.
Most people stay outside in the cold for extended periods of time to see the Aurora Borealis.
