Risdon is stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia and said that he and friend Jason Gibson, (who filmed the incident without Risdon’s knowledge) were eating dinner when a 9-year-old old boy and 13-year-old boy approached and asked if they would buy a dessert to help support their church.

Risdon and Gibson said they didn’t have any cash on them but Risdon asked if the boys had eaten dinner, and they hadn’t, so he offered to buy them tacos and a drink.

“I’m kinda embarrassed and humbled by the praise and don’t need it. I am a believer that we live in the best country in the world with the best people and that acts of kindness happen every day,” Risdon said.

As they were leaving the younger boy saluted Risdon and said he wanted to be like him when he grew up.
