Delivering a premature child is a terrifying experience for parents. Thanks to the advancement of technology, the likelihood of a child surviving an early birth has increased, however it’s not always a guarantee. The child is extremely vulnerable during this period. It has yet to fully develop, which makes the fight to survive even more challenging. This high-risk period of uncertainty is immensely stressful for families. They often spend as much time as possible by their child’s side to endure their unpredictable future together. When an infant does overcome the challenges of his first few months of life, it is an amazing feat that we dare you to watch without shedding a tear.
Ward Miles was born 3 ½ months premature and weighed under 1 ½ pounds. He spent the first 107 days of his life in the hospital fighting for his life. Ward’s father, Benjamin Scot Miller, made a video documenting his son’s first year of life.
