There is no doubt kettle popcorn is a delicious snack, but all that sugar and salt should be prepared only for a special treat. Although, depending on how it is prepared, popcorn can be a healthy snack.
A nice alternative would be to air pop the popcorn. This can be accomplished using an air popper. Then, after the popcorn is popped, add extra virgin olive oil and a little sea salt. The amount of olive oil used is up to you, but a little can go a long way. However, if you use too much olive oil, the calories can add up quick. When purchasing the popcorn, try to go for the organic popping corn. It will have a lot less pesticide residues and other toxic residues found in common commercial popcorn.
