She Was The Best Boxer, But It Took Just One Punch To Change Women’s Boxing History…

You’ve got to love underdog stories and nothing says David and Goliath like these two female boxers going toe to toe.

Vonda Ward — all 6-foot-6 inches of her — was playing Goliath as she defended her light heavyweight championship about the seemingly tiny 5-foot-9 Ann Wolfe.
After trading several, non-lethal jabs with one another, Ward went for a kill shot and missed. Unfortunately for her, Wolfe countered with a kill shot of her own, connected, and as the announcer said — timber!

That would be the only loss of Ward’s career, as she finished 23-1 and eventually won the woman’s heavyweight championship. Wolfe finished at 24-1.
