The black swans of Dawlish in England were brought there from Australia almost 100 years ago but have since become nearly synonymous with the town. The residents and visitors alike are smitten with the sight of these stunning birds.
But their lineage was in jeopardy until a courageous man with a broom and a bucket got to work. A family of baby swans had become trapped under this rushing flow of water and lacked the swimming ability to save themselves.
