This Couple Didn’t Want Their Wedding Day To Be All About Them, So They Did Something Incredible…

Some wedding couples have a “bridezilla” obsessed with getting every detail just right for their special day.  This couple, did something completely different. Instead of spending lots of money throwing a big party and feeding their friends and family banquet food at a wedding reception, Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu, 24, and Esra Polat, 20, went from their wedding ceremony to a refugee center.

They worked with Turkish charity Kimse Yok Mu to feed 4,000 Syrian refugees on the day of their wedding.  The breakout of the Syrian Civil War in 2011, caused millions of Syrians have fled their homeland.

The couple used the money given to them by wedding attendees. “I thought that sharing a big delicious dinner with our family and friends was unnecessary, knowing that there are so many people in need living next door,” they said.

“Seeing the happiness in the eyes of the Syrian refugee children is just priceless. We started our journey to happiness with making others happy and that’s a great feeling.”
